Timothy Edward Klibbe
July 10, 1974 - September 3, 2018
Timothy Edward Klibbe was born on July 10, 1974 to William and Jaylene Klibbe in Glasow Valley, Montana.[1] He had two sisters, and not long after he was born, the family packed up and moved to Denver, residing in the Englewood district. William and Jaylene were longtime members of South Fellowship, a church located in Littleton, Colorado, with Timothy joining them every Sunday.[2] After graduating from Englewood High School in 1992, Klibbe joined the US Army and served in the Persian Gulf. Throughout his time of service, he was awarded the Airborne Wings, Army Commendation Medal, and the Iraq Expert Infantry Badge, among other accolades.[3]
In 2014, after sustaining injuries in the field during the height of the First Gulf War, Klibbe moved back to Colorado. Uncertain of where to go after years of military service, Klibbe made the decision to enroll at Colorado Christian University a year later, majoring in Biblical Studies. Finding a newfound passion, Klibbe enrolled at Denver Seminary in August of 2018 for a master’s in Divinity, all towards the end goal of becoming a pastor.[4] He had a particular interest in helping those that were suffering from addiction.[5]
Timothy was extremely passionate about not only Christ, but service work within South Fellowship, taking every opportunity to share his love to anyone who would listen. Alongside his wife Bridgett, another longtime member of South Fellowship, Timothy would co-teach a class of 2nd graders, and would always step up to volunteer for various events at the church, such as Family Promise.[6]
Timothy was to intern under Dan Elliot, one of the head pastors at South Fellowship who focuses on community care and outreach.[7] “Tim had such a large heart for people, especially those who struggled,” Dan said. “He would often open up their (him and Bridgett’s) home for someone he had just met… He was very passionate about things he decided to live for.”[8]
Unfortunately, Timothy’s devotion to Christ was cut short a month later. On September 3, Timothy passed away from a motorcycle accident in Cheyenne, Wyoming. He is survived by his wife Bridgett along with his daughters Aria and Lily.[9]
